Looking for advice on how to help your child stay safe ?
With the increased use of devices by children it becomes harder to police all the avenues children may find themselves down. On this page we have signposted websites where you can find help and advice to help you keep your children as safe as possible on line.
Ofcom, is the government-approved regulatory and competition authority for the broadcasting, telecommunications and postal industries of the United Kingdom. They produce a report annually relating to children & parents media experiences over the course of the previous year.
According to their annual report published this year:
70% of parents worry about their children seeing age-inappropriate content
68% of parents worry about thir child being exposed to content that promotes self harm
69% worry about their child being bullied online
72% worry about their child distinguishing real from fake information
61% worry about exposure to extreme views

As part of the curriculum here at Newbald we teach children how to stay safe on line and why it's so important to ask about anything they are unsure of.
